Bishop Lach Requests A Study of the State of the Eparchy of Parma

In concern for the salvation of souls and the wellbeing of the eparchy, Bishop Milan Lach, the
Bishop of the Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of Parma, has requested that the Congregation for
Eastern Churches arrange a study of the state of the eparchy.

In response to his request, the Congregation for Eastern Churches has mandated the Most Reverend Gerald Kicanas, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Tucson, Arizona, to visit the Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of Parma. He will be accompanied by Rev. Manuel Viera, OFM. Bishop Kicanas will be arranging meetings with clergy and lay people August 31, 2021 to September 4, 2021 to assess the state of the pastoral needs of the faithful. He will be setting up some meetings but any clerics or lay people not contacted who would want to speak in person or virtually should contact Bishop Kicanas by Monday, August 23, 2021 at gkicanas@diocesetucson.org to arrange a meeting either in person or virtually.

Those requesting an interview should send Bishop Kicanas a written summary of what they want to say prior to their meeting in person or virtually. Bishop Lach encourages all who are interested to request a meeting.
